Ina Mae (Shaffer) Burke, 81, of Bloomington, went home to be with the Lord at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010 at her residence.
Born July 3, 1929 in Park, she was the daughter of John Henry and Essie Loe (Hineman) Shaffer.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
Surviving relatives include: her children, Ronnie Burke (Deanna) of Solsberry, Marilyn West and Saundra Burke both of Bloomington and David Burke (Debra) of Fishers; eight grandchildren, Brian Burke of Bloomington, Becky Kirkpatrick of Terre Haute, Crystal Axsom of Solsberry, Lonica Snapp of Solsberry, Lisa West of Bloomington, Dakota Burke, Dylan Burke and Delaney Burke all of Fishers; and thirteen great, grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Clayton Burke on February 26, 2006, two brothers, Harley and Avery Shaffer, two sisters-in-law, Ercie Shaffer and Dorothy Ireland and her parents.
Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Walnut Grove Church of God, with Rev. Rob Martindale officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield and from 12 Noon until the hour of services Wednesday at the church.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
