The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included one follow-up investigation, one incident of vandalism, two drug investigations, one incident of animal cruelty, one suspicious vehicle or person, one assist to another agency, one missing person - adult, two arrests - wanted on warrants, one animal/canine removed and four traffic stops.
* July 26 -- Joseph S. Gibson, 29, Linton, was taken into custody by LPD Officer Debbie McDonald around 2 p.m. at his residence on Sassafras Road. Gibson was on probation on a conviction for burglary of a dwelling, a class B felony, but a petition to revoke his probation was filed and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Gibson was arrested without incident and was transported to Greene County Jail where he was being held without bond. LPD Officer Brock Garrison provided assistance.
* July 26 -- Roy L. Ward III, 25, Linton, was taken into custody by LPD Officer Thomas A. Jerrels around 7:45 p.m. at a residence on Gabbard Avenue in Linton where Ward was known to stay. A preliminary charge of receiving stolen auto parts, a class D felony, was filed against Ward and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Ward was arrested without incident and was transported to the Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $4,000. LPD Officer Brock Garrison provided assistance.
* July 26 -- Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief/vandalism which occurred sometime after midnight. A resident found both rear tires on their vehicle had been slashed. According to the police report, there is a suspect and the investigation is ongoing. LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.
