She was born in Elnora on Oct. 18, 1916, to Curtis and Osia (Rader) Lynn. On May 20, 1936, she married Ira A. Howard.
Dorothy was a member of the Sandborn United Methodist Church and the Englewood Order of Eastern Star. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to all.
Survivors include two sons, James A. Howard of Fountaintown, Ind., and Elmer C. Howard of Indianapolis; three daughters: Marilyn Durham of Greenwood, Beverly Wheeler of Indianapolis, and Barbara Pate of Greenwood; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and four sisters and two granddaughters.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Lyons.
Friends may call at the funeral from noon until the hour of service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
