She was born in Linton on Jan. 17, 1939, the daughter of William Henry Simmons and Minnie Alice Lloyd Simmons.
Billie was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Linton, and was formerly employed at Glenburn Nursing Home. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother devoting her time to the care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, also four brothers, Lawrence, Albert, James and William Simmons.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years who she married on Oct. 13, 1956, Jack House, four daughters, Nancy Loveless (Rusty), Sherri Priest (James), Susan Cullison (Mark), and Jackie Hale (Doug) all of Linton; two sisters, Kathleen Wright and Lorene Phipps both of Linton; 11 grand-children and their spouses and 22 great grand-children.
A celebration of Billie's life will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church in Linton with the Rev. Eugene Riker officiating. Interment will be in the Dugger Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger.
