He was born on May 8, 1940, in Martin Co., to Herman and Delphia (Banks) Heshelman. On December 31, 1956, Jim married Wilma R. Terrell.
Jim was a farmer, employee for the Town of Sandborn, operated Heshelman Trash Service and served on the Sandborn Cemetery Board for over 20 years. He retired from farming in 2008 and also from the Sandborn Volunteer Fire Department. Jim was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church, Sandborn Lions Club, Knights of Pyithus and Washington Eagles Lodge #414. He loved to play euchre and loaf with his buddies at the Blue Jay Junction.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Heshelman; two sons, Rickey (Darla) Heshelman and Ralph (Joan) Heshelman, both of Sandborn; four grandchildren, Brandy Wilkes, Belinda Heshelman, Brittney Daymude and Chelsea Heshelman; two great-grandchildren, Kenzie Sweigert and Kailyn Daymude; one brother, Richard J. (Sandy) Heshelman of Plainville and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and five brothers.
The family has requested memorial contributions to be made to the Sandborn Christian Church Van Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church.
Visitation hours will be held from 4 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15 at the Sandborn Christian Church. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday.
Funeral service will be at the Sandborn Christian Church, at 11a.m. with Bryan Sanders and Rev. Tom Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Sandborn Cemetery in Sandborn, IN.
