Carroll E. Stoner, 70, of Newberry, passed away Thursday August 12, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Born August 18, 1939 in Newberry, Indiana he was the son of Cecil and Minnie (Goad) Stoner.
He retired from Crane as a railroad supervisor and was a member of the Crane VFW, Elnora American Legion and the Newberry Masonic Lodge.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Helen Kay Stoner of Newberry; four children Joann Minnich of Fortville; Clint Stoner of French Lick; Duke Stoner of Newberry, and Luke Stoner of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren, Jordan Bruner, Logan Bruner, Kaleb Stoner, Abbi Stoner, Nolan Stoner, Rylan Stoner and Hunter Minnich; two sisters; Dee Myers of Bloomfield and Judy Kirkman of Bedford; and his father Cecil Stoner, of Sumter, South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.
Friends can call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday August 14 and noon until the hour of service Sunday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Newberry Masonic Lodge will have a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
Services will be at 1p.m. on Sunday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Steve Dunkel officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
