She was born Nov. 20, 1916 in Coalmont, Ind., the daughter of Alex Miller and Delia Ann (Malone) Miller. On May 10, 1934, she married Roy Marlow who preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1974.
Fernie retired at age 65 after spending many years of her life working as a secretary and bookkeeper for a number of organizations as well as Allis Chalmers and Gillis Memorial Chapel. She was a 50-year member of O.E.S. Jasonville Lodge and a 65-year member of American Baptist Missionary Churches attending Jasonville First Baptist Church for 30 years and Coalmont Baptist Church for 35 years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Kay Marlow of Greenwood, Ind.; two grandsons Jerry Jay and Deborah Marlow of Fort Wayne and Scott Alan and Maureen Marlow of Trafalgar; three great-granddaughters, Amber and Ryan Frick, Bridget Marlow and Tara Marlow; three great-grandsons, Bradley Marlow, Connor Marlow and Aidan Marlow; one great-great-grandson, Malachi Frick; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Edwin Wiley of Milwaukee, Wisc.; four nephews and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Helen Brenton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cox Funeral Home, 218 Meridian St., Jasonville.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20 until time of service.
A funeral service with Brad West officiating will be Friday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at K of P Cemetery in Hymera.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or charity of choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
