Ruby Pearl Vandeventer,85, of Bloomfield passed away at 8:55 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born June 6, 1925 in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of Harrison and Daisy (Hamlin) Heaton.
She retired in housekeeping at Indiana University after 20 years of service and was also a restaurant worker. She was a member of the Word of Life Fellowship Church in Bloomfield.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Bob Vandeventer of Bloomfield; two daughters, Mable Keller and Edna Minks both of Bloomfield; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reed E. Vandeventer on January 14, 1982, two sons, Larry and Rick Vandeventer, three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Word of Life Fellowship Church in Bloomfield, with Brother Eugene Helms officiating. Interment will be in Mount Calvary/Hamlin Cemetery in rural Bloomfield,
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at Word of Life Fellowship Church. Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
