The Linton Police Department's activity log for Thursday included one title check, one follow-up investigation, one request for information, one fight, one assist to the utility department after hours, one vandalism, two drug investigations, one intimidation, two vehicle fires, one accident with property damage, one funeral escort, two medical/illness, one animal complaint, two suspicious vehicles and/or persons, five complaints of harassment, one possibly intoxicated driver, two reckless drivers, one traffic control, one domestic dispute, one ordinance violation and 28 traffic stops.
* Aug. 25 -- LPD Officer Nick Yingling was dispatched to WalMart on the report of a 17-year-old male juvenile accused of the theft of several items from the store. The police report states the suspect, from Linton, confessed and was released to the custody of his father. The case has been referred to juvenile authorities and no further information has been released.
* Aug. 26 -- Police investigated an incident reported by a Linton woman who said she and a Sullivan man were riding in the same vehicle around 5 p.m. when an argument started and he grabbed a phone, broke it in half then threw it out the window over the four-way bridge. There was a witness. LPD Officer Nick Yingling was the investigating officer.
