The Linton Police Department's activity log for Tuesday included one illegal burn, one fight, one accident with property damage, three medical/illness, two alarms, two animal complaints, one VIN check, one suspicious vehicle or person, one domestic battery, one extra patrol, one fingerprint for a gun permit, two domestic disputes, one animal/canine removed, one ordinance violation, one battery and eight traffic stops.
* Aug. 31 -- A woman who had been staying at the home of a family member on NW 3rd Street in Linton reported an altercation occurred between her and a man from Linton. The investigation is still open. LPD Officer Thomas Jerrels is the investigating officer. LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes has assisted in the case.
* Aug. 31 -- A Linton woman reported she was battered while she was at a residence on NE 9th Street by a Linton man who entered the residence without permission, started an argument with everyone inside, then dragged the woman outside on the porch and began to hit her with his fist then struck her on the back of the head with a metal pipe. The incident is being investigated by LPD Officer Brock Garrison assisted by LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes and LPD Chief Troy Jerrells.
