Pete was born Nov. 7, 1960 in Alamogordo, New Mexico, to Eddie J. Sayers, Jr. and Hallie (Turner) Cox.
He was a mechanic, and he formerly worked construction, but his passion was driving a truck. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and of the Baptist faith.
Pete is survived by his wife, Jean (Caddell) Sayers; mother and step-father, Hallie and William Cox, Modesto, Calif.; two daughters, Jessica Sayers, Evansville and Leslie (Bradley) White (children Jason and Audrey), Terre Haute; brother, Robert Wileman, Ruidoso, N.M.; sister, Cathey Latner, Modesto, Calif.; five step-children, Harley and Meah Hubbell, at home, Christopher Hubbell, Linton, Rocky (Karen) Caddell (children Gracie, Ally, Evan and Jaden), Hymera; April Keller (children Jordyn and Kaleb, Clay City); and nephew, Clayton Latner; and niece, Cortney Latner.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, Worthington at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9 with Bro. Jim Hibbert officiating.
Friends may call at Welch & Cornett from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and 10 a.m. on Thursday until the time of service.
Burial will be in Pleasant Bethel Cemetery.
