Born November 13, 1942 in Daviess County, he was the son of Paul E. and Neva Grace (Webster) Tomey.
He worked for RCA/Thompson in Bloomington and was a member of Antioch Christian Church.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Wynoma (Kinnaman)Tomey whom he married November 20, 1973; two sons, Lonnie R. Tomey and Donald D. Chambers both of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Corey Tomey, Drew Tomey, Wyatt Tomey, Cody Chambers, and Morgan Chambers all of Bloomington; one brother, William Thomas of Scotland; three sisters, Mary (Thomas) Wade of Mitchell, Carol (Thomas) Byrer of Odon, and Linda Thomas of Vincennes.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Tomey, one sister, Betty (Tomey) Bough and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Sylvania Wesleyan Church in Bloomfield, with Rev. Dave Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services Thursday at Sylvania Wesleyan Church. Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
The family asks that all memorial donations be made to the Family Life Center in Bloomfield.
