Fred O. Reed, 85, of Jasonville, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday at his residence.
He was born April 26, 1925 in Jasonville, the son of Fred Reed and Wallie Susanna (Barth) Reed.
He married Mary (Stiffler) Reed on April 12, 194 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2004.
Fred was a tradesman at a chemical plant in Michigan where he worked as a processor and later as a carpenter. He was a US Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Suzie and Ray Tankersley of Marrero, LA.; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Debbie Reed of Woodbury, MN; grandchildren, Tammy Cronic and Bill, Eric Tankersley and Rachel, Rachel and Josh Platt, Chris and Krystal Reed, Beth Reed; eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorene Gardner of Jasonville; brother and sister-in-law, Jim H. Reed and Anita of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sister, Winifred Burris
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Sam Bush officiating.
Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, with military graveside rites.
