The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included one protective order violation, one incident of disorderly conduct, two accidents with personal injury, one accident with property damage, one suicide or attempted suicide, one animal complaint, one suspicious vehicle and/or person, one complaint of harassment, one domestic dispute-neighbor and five traffic stops.
* Sept. 21 -- Chelsea N. McGowan, 19, Linton, was arrested at approximately 12:15 a.m. in the area of N. Main and F Streets and booked into the Greene County Jail where her bond was set at $1,000.
Officers were dispatched to N. Main St. on the report of a white female who had been turning over various objects along the street.
LPD Officer Thomas Jerrels, the investigating officer, responded along with LPD Cpl. Chad E. Crynes and Officer Brock Garrison.
Jerrels said the subject was identified as McGowan and when officers arrived, she immediately stated she had been drinking and was underage.
A police report states the officers noticed an odor of an alcoholic beverage and McGowan had slurred speech and poor balance. She failed field sobriety testing.
The police report also notes there was a witness.
The preliminary charges filed against McGowan on Tuesday in Greene Superior Court included possession of an alcoholic beverage by a minor, a class B misdemeanor, and public intoxication, a class C misdemeanor.
