The Linton Police Department's activity log for Tuesday included one incident of trespassing, one assist to the utility department after hours, one drug investigation, one report of shots fired, two accidents with personal injury, four medical/illness, one animal complaint, two suspicious vehicles/persons, one assist to another agency, one theft, one animal/debris in a roadway, two domestic disputes and three traffic stops.
* Sept. 18 -- William J. Poe, 28, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charge of public intoxication. At approximately 3 a.m., someone walked in to the police department to report a man lying in an alley. Officers responded and found Poe in an alley in the area of N. Main St., north of State Road 54. The police report states they woke the man up but believed him to be extremely intoxicated. He was transported to the Greene County Jail where he failed field sobriety tests. Poe was released from jail after posting $500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. LPD Cpl. Paul Clark was the investigating officer. LPD Officer Nick Yingling also assisted on the scene.
