The Class 3A Washington Hatchets arrived early for White River Valley's senior day but did not stay long winning all matches in straight sets 5-0.

Washington has a strong program with a great junior high feeder system. Something I hope to have at WRV some day soon.

This was not our last home match as we host Linton on Monday. But I wanted to have senior day one home match early in case of the chance of a rain out.

All players were off the courts in a little more than 90 minutes. There is not much to say, they were just a lot better than us today.

Senior Austin Roudebush lost at one singles to junior Justin Harner, 6-2, 6-2.

Freshman Corey Thompson defeated Jan Juhas' at two singles 6-4, 6-3.

Trent Myers lost to sophomore Matt Pancake at three singles 6-2, 6-4.

One doubles team of Derek Myers and Luke Mowery who had been on a roll, but ran into a buzz saw today losing to senior Tyler Schnarr and Freshman Tyler Stoll, 6-0, 6-2.

The two doubles lost 0-0 against juniors Heath Goodwin and Jarrod Robinson.

Austin and Jan will have one more home match Monday.

I'm really going to miss those guys next year. They are just two really nice young men. WRV will host Linton on Monday at 4 p.m.
