Alma Williams, 98, of Washington, Ind., passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 at the Daviess Community Hospital in Washington.
She was born on Oct. 3, 1912, in Plainville to Alonzo C. and Lois Margaret (Lawyer) McBride. She married Russell C. Williams on Sept. 25, 1929.
Alma was a homemaker a member of the First Baptist Church, 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star and Tri-Kappa all of Washington.
Survivors include: one grandson, Michael W. Garland of Washington; five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brianna, Andrew, Trenton and Chloe Garland; two nieces, Jo Dearmin of Odon and Linda Dee Woodruff of Linton; and one nephew, Dr. BK Poindexter of Bluffton.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Russell who passed away in 1991; one daughter, Nancy Garland; and one grandson, James R. Garland.
Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. Bill Mallad officiating. Interment will follow at Sugarland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Washington.
Visitation hours will be from 9 a.m. until 11a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
