Born March 26, 1931 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Harvey and Eva May (Cox) Bland.
She was a homemaker and attended the Bloomfield First Pentecostal Church. Norma loved being outdoors and working in her yard. She was dedicated to her family.
Surviving relatives include: her children, Linda Harper (Jim) of Worthington, Mary Scott of Scotland, Bill Scott (Deedy) of Bloomfield, Connie Wright (Dan) of Bloomfield and Raymond Scott (Jayne) of Bloomfield; one brother, Roy Bland of Muncie; one sister, Marjorie Skinner of Bloomfield; eight grandchildren, Dave Horning, Jason Harper, Clint Wright, Fred Wright, Alysia McIntosh, Austin Scott, Willy Scott and Sarah Scott; three great, grandchildren, Chelsea Harper, Ilana Horning and Brett Horning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert L. Scott, on Jan. 10, 2003, sisters, Edith Hayes and Mildred Bland, brothers, Paul Bland, Lester Bland and Bobby Bland.
Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Dean VanSlyke officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
