Elizabeth S. Letsinger, 90, died October 17, 2010 at her residence in Mineral.
Born March 4, 1920 in Furnace, she was the daughter of Raymond and Nina (Borters) Stone.
She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School in 1938 and Indiana University School of Nursing in 1946. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1949.
She was commissioned as a Lt. JG in the United States Navy after training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Illinois in 1950.
She married James K. Letsinger on April 22, 1950 in Bloomfield.
She pursued a career of private duty nursing for several years in Greene County.
She was a member of the Mineral United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, Psi Iota Xi sorority, The Argonaut Club, Furnace Homemakers Club and the Farmers and Homemakers Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Capt. Doyle Dugger in 1943, amd her sister, Katherine Branstetter.
Surviving relatives include one sister, Mary Jo McLane of Ambler, Pennsylvania and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Mineral United Methodist Church, with Rev. Lloyd Swango and Rev. Steve Eads officiating. Interment will be in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the Church.
Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
