James William Rollins, age 64, of Newberry, passed away at 1:05 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 23, 2010, at his residence. He was born Nov. 27, 1945, in Greene County, the son of Quince Aden and Naomi Helen (Manning) Rollins.
He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was a production worker at GM Power Train in Bedford. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Newberry, the United Auto Workers, the American Legion, VFW, and was a friend of Bill W. He graduated from Switz City High School.
He married Jacqueline (Shepperd) Rollins, on April 9, 1969, and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Jamie Denise Rollins of Newberry, a son, James Aden Rollins of Newberry, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Quince Rollins, Jr. and George Dean Rollins, and a sister, Rhodonna K. Shipley.
There will be a celebration of life dinner at the Methodist Church in Newberry on Friday, Oct. 29, at 6:00 p.m. There will be no other services.
