Kenneth Paul Broshears, M.D., 91 of Linton, died at 11:10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Glenburn Home in Linton.
He was born in Chandler on Dec. 7, 1918, the son of Frank J. & Ivy L. (Hewins) Broshears.
Dr. Broshears was a graduate of the University of Louisville and Indiana University Medical School. He served as a medical doctor in the U.S. Army during WWII. His memberships include the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #22, the B.P.O. Elks #860, all of Linton, and the American Medical Association. He had served on the Greene County General Hospital Board of Directors, Glenburn Home Board of Directors, and the Linton Housing Authority Board of Directors. He formerly served as the Greene County General Hospital Chief of Staff.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Geraldine (Macer) Broshears of Linton; two grandsons, Evan (Lindsey) Broshears and Brian (Bobbi) Broshears of Bloomfield; and three great-grandchildren, Trevor and Brandt Broshears, and Sydney Jerrells.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Keith M. Broshears, D.D.S.; and a brother, Charles E. Broshears.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, with Nyle Riegle officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
