Patty started working with the Democrat party in Greene County as Democrat Vice-Chairman. She then was the Seventh District Democrat Vice-Chairman. After becoming the Democratic Vice-Chairman for the state of Indiana, she led the state campaign for President Jimmy Carter administration. She had served as president for the National Federation of Democratic Woman.
She retired from U.S. Airline in 1997.
She was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Chris (Rod) Miller of Coatsville, Nancy (Larry) Patterson and Barbara (Mark) Gennicks of Linton; a sister, Peggy Leveque of Indianapolis, 11 grandchildren, Rodney (Shannon) Miller, Brice Miller, Allison (Jason) Everman, Brandy (Jason) Pattison, Brooke (Brian) Thomas, Bill (Brittany) Patterson, Mike Patterson, Mary Patterson, Jake (Lacey) Gennicks, Rachael Gennicks and Siles Gennicks, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Victoria Warnick, former spouse, Floyd O. Evans, and two great-grandsons.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, with Nyle Riegle officiating.
Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4 -- 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
