Jasper attended Black Creek School in Linton, worked at Marion Brick in Brazil and was also a truck driver for Wabash Valley Trucking. He was a member of Jasonville Church of God, Teamsters Union Local #135, American Legion in Indianapolis and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Lee (Godfrey) Hamilton whom he married on Aug. 26, 1988; son and daughter-in-law Tracy and Janell Hamilton; step-son Tim and Kim Rehmel; and step-daughter Debra Landis, all of Jasonville; grandchildren Jeremy and Mindy Hamilton, Curtis Hamilton, Donnie Wayne and Cora Landis, Annette and John Burney, Melissa Landis, John and Niki Landis, Brittney Rehmel, Timothy Rehmel, Jan and Pat Gilbert, Michael Rehmel and Belinda; eight great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Vernie and Janice Hamilton of Jasonville; mother-in-law Helen Godfrey of Jasonville; brother-in-law Bob Godfrey of Jasonville; sister-in-law Judy and Paris Bandy of Indianapolis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son John Rehmel; brother Lee Hamilton; sisters Mary Huey, Wilma Woodard and Delema Godsey; sister-in-law Ena Mowery; brother-in-law Harold Mowery; and nephew Greg Mowery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cox Funeral Home in Jasonville.
Visitation will be Friday, 5-8 p.m., at the funeral home and Saturday from noon until time of service at the Jasonville Church of God.
Funeral services will be at the church at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, with Pastor Jonathan Heard and Rev. Tracy Hamilton officiating. Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
