She was born Dec. 19, 1959, in Vincennes, the daughter of Robert and Rose (Trent) Martin.
She graduated from Indiana State University in 1982 with a Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology. She worked at Greene County General Hospital in Linton as a Medical Technician. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Lyons.
Survivors include her mother, Rose Martin, of Linton, her husband, Richard "Rich" Johnson of Lyons, to whom she was married Feb. 21, 1985, two daughters, Samantha (Brandon) Callison of Plainville and Carly Johnson of Lyons, a son, Nick Johnson at home in Lyons, two brothers, Tony Martin of Switz City and J. D. Martin of Loogootee, a sister, Dana Jeffers of Terre Haute, a grandchild, Grady Callison, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Leah Hartsburg.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 22 at St. Peter Church in Linton, with Father Michael Madden officiating. Burial will follow at Sandborn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton. A scripture wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21, at the funeral home.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Community Food Pantry through the funeral home.
