Harold L. "Buck" Emery, 83, of Bloomfield passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Buck was born Sept. 22, 1927 in Greene County, the son of Virgil and Ruth (Carnegie) Emery.
Buck was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II and worked at Hasler Oil for 31 years and drove a school bus for Bloomfield for 41 years. He was a member of the Bloomfield American Legion Post # 196 and a lifetime member of the DAV of Dubois County.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Betty L. Emery; two children, Diane Adcock (Jim) and Jeff Emery (Janie) all of Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Jimmy Adcock, Adam Adcock and Juli Baker, all of Bloomfield; four great-grandchildren AJ Adcock, Brent Adcock, Tristian Adcock and Raigan Baker; one sister, Mary Ann Hamilton of Bloomfield; and one brother Dan Emery of Switz City.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Mark Emery, Harry Emery and Russell Emery; two sisters, Flo Hasler and Jeanie Clayton.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 10, and 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Arlen Pope and Rev. Erin Raper officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
The family wishes any donations in Bucks name be made to the Anticoh Cemetery in care of Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
