Orvan Leo Rehmel, 84, of Coalmont passed away at 6:18 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born March 21, 1926 in Sullivan County, he as the son of Ora O. Rehmel amd Leona F. (Railsback) Rehmel.

His wife, Susan Jane (Stevenson) Rehmel, whom he married Oct. 4, 1946, preceded him in death on July 17, 2001.

Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Ron Crosley of Rockville, Jane & Bill Stout of Jasonville; sons and and aughter-in-law, Gerald L. and Amy Rehmel of Ellettsville, Verlin A. Rehmel of Worthington, Duane L. Rehmel of Jasonville and Kriss L. Rehmel of Jasonville; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandson; two nephews, Brady Wertz and Kevin Floyd; and best friend, Marjorie West

He was also preceded in death by his parents;; two sisters; two brothers-in-law.

Orvan was a C.B.I and World War II Army artiliary veteran. He was a life member of the Jasonville V.F.W. Post #6225; member of the Coalmont Baptist Church; and retired from J.I. Case as a Production Work Machinist after 19 1/2 years.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville, IN.

Visitiaton will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at he funeral home with Pastor Brad West and Pastor Chris McKinney officiating.

Interment will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Farmersburg with military grave site rites.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
