Susan Christine (Fesler) Richards, 57, passed away on Dec. 29, at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis.

Susie was a loved and loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, wife, mother, aunt and her favorite -- Nini.

Born on Dec. 13, 1953 to Jim and Vera (Burress) Fesler in Washington, Ind., Susie spent her childhood in Raglesville, Ind., growing up among her many friends and family. She was the pride and joy of her grandparents, Alma and Charlie Riggins of Raglesville and Mable Fesler of Switz City. Susie attended school at Raglesville and graduated from North Daviess High School in 1971. She worked as an instructor for Ivy Tech and provided secretarial services from her home-based business while working for the Department of the Navy at Crane. She retired from Crane in 2005.

Susie is survived by her husband of 31 years, Eugene Richards; her daughters Blythe Richards and Christin Craig; son-in-law Aaron Craig and granddaughter Tabitha Craig. She is also survived by her niece Stacey Deaton and family, nephew Kevin Fesler and family, and sister-in-law Joyce Johnson and husband Rick.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her brother, Kenneth Fesler, and her grandson, Jonathan. Susie was loved by her many friends and family and returned that love with unwavering generosity, attention and kindness to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her interest in her family and friends was always evident by her calls, cards, notes and e-mails, which continued throughout her illnesses and periods of recuperation.

As a child, Susie was a member of the Raglesville United Brethren Church and later the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. A memorial service to celebrate and honor Susie will be held at the Bloomfield United Methodist Church at 2 pm, on Saturday, Jan. 22.
