Clerk showed

a lack of respect

To the Editor:

Fowler made a foul move ... pun intended.

On her first day as Greene County Clerk, Susan Fowler presented a delicate situation then neglected to communicate with the public.

Fowler made a hasty decision to terminate four employees without warning or disclosing reason. Her decision may stand warranted by Indiana's "At Will" law, but it reveals a tactless and unscrupulous character.

Fowler failed to address the obnoxious plight saying that, "firings were justified" but it is really not for publication. Yet in a later interview Fowler stated that her decision was based on improving customer service and courtesy. Her delayed explanation sounds like an advising lawyer's script.

I would like to ask Mrs. Fowler if she feels that her own actions reflect appropriate service and courtesy towards employees, and if so, why the caginess?

It's reported that Fowler neither attended the meeting regarding the county's employee handbook, which contrasts her decision, nor did she obtain her own copy before acting.

On her first day as clerk, a position that serves the public, she has shown a lack of respect for employees, leaders, and members of this community.

Thank you from Glenburn council

To the Editor:

I would like to say thank you for all the items donated by the merchants, employees and family members.

We made enough money with our other sales and had enough money and to get gifts for 32 head start children, and 17 employee's children.

Again thanks to all.

In Christ love.
