She was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Linton, the daughter of Andrew Simon and Mamie (Heacox) Allen.
A graduate of Linton-Stockton High School, during WW II she worked at Allison's Division of General Motors in Indianapolis and later worked at Kennedy Shoes and G.C. Murphy, both in Linton. She retired from the Linton General Electric plant. She was a member of the Linton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of Que Vive Club. She attended the South Church of God when a child, also Third Street N.E. Church of God and the First Baptist Church. Two of her favorite songs were Jesus Hold My Hand, I Need Thee Every Hour, and Fill My Way Every Day with Love.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Con (Pamela) Butler of Pendleton and Gary Bruce (Sandra) Butler of Anderson; two brothers, Bruce and Fred Allen, both of Linton; six grandchildren, Rhonda (Rick) Sullivan and Rennae (Ronnie) Lehman, both of Linton, Amber (Andrew) Parsons of Greenwood, Haylie Williams of Markleville, Andrew Con Butler and Jeffery Haymaker, both of Elwood, and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alvin Con Butler, June 12, 2002.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday and noon Thursday until the hour of the service.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
