She was born in Dugger on Jan. 6, 1923, the daughter of Rollie F. Eslinger and Flossie (McPherson) Eslinger.
She was a homemaker until her children were grown and then worked 27 years for American Latex. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #139. Her favorite pastimes were bowling and cheering for IU basketball and the Colts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years Albert (Jerry) Wamsley; four brothers, Lawrence, Junior, Tom and Jack Eslinger; and two sisters, Rosier Lehman, and Deloris Eslinger.
She is survived by four generations.
Survivors include five sons, Gerald Jerry Lee Wamsley (JoAnn) of Sullivan, Ronnie Wamsley (Myra) of Greenfield, Freddie Wamsley (Susan) of Sullivan, Jeff Wamsley (Bonita) of Sullivan, and Mike Wamsley of Fredricksburg, VA.; one daughter, Susan McElhney (Joe) of Savanah, GA.; 20 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday Feb. 4, 2011 at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan. Interment will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery.
