She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Coal City, the daughter of Orville and Gertrude (Strouse) Karns.
She was a homemaker and had been a beautician several years ago.
Survivors include her husband, Harold E. Shouse, to whom she was married June 1, 1985; a son, Norman (Patty) Klass of Coal City; three step-daughters, Phyllis A. Binkowski of Dandridge, TN, Carolyn S. (Jerry) Moss of Linton and Patty (Larry) King of Jasonville; a step-son, Terry Joe (Rose) Shouse of Linton; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Michael Klass; a brother, Orian Karns.
Funeral services will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1 P.M. Monday, Feb. 7 with Pastor Randy Raney officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
