GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
* Feb. 14 -- David Johnson, 30, Jasonville, was arrested on a warrant issued for failure to appear and was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy John Fowler was the arresting officer.
* Feb. 15 -- Natasha L. Jones, 35, Clay City, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and was being held in lieu of $4,000 bond. Linton Police Officer Tom Jerrels was the arresting officer.
LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
* Feb 13 -- Police are investigating a battery which allegedly occurred at a convenience store around 2 p.m. One man said he was at the store when his ex's boyfriend came out of the restroom and struck him in the face. The fight continued for awhile. LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.
* Feb 15 -- A woman who backed into another vehicle in a parking lot blamed the crash on the fact that the entire back window of her own vehicle was covered in duct tape.
Police listed that as a contributing factor in the accident.
They also listed alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs and/or prescription drugs as possible other contributing factors and gave the woman a ride to the county jail.
Natasha L. Jones, 35, Jasonville, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and was being held in lieu of $4,000 bond.
The crash occurred in the parking lot of the Park Inn motel at approxiimately 2:51 a.m. Tuesday.
It was reported to police by the front desk attendant who witnessed the crash.
Jones was operating a blue 1999 Dodge Neon when she backed out of a parking place and hit a parked truck.
When LPD Officer Thomas Jerrels and Cpl. Chad Crynes arrived, Jones was given field sobriety tests and failed all of them.
Jones was transported first to Greene County General Hospital for a blood draw then on to jail.
