He was born in Indianapolis on June 18, 1948, to John William and Mildred L. (Pruett) Dayhoff. Butch married Elizabeth A. 'Libby' Carpenter on Sept. 10, 1966.
Butch was employed with General Electric, working in the Linton Plant as well as the Bloomington Plant. He retired in 1998. His hobbies included fishing, deer hunting and bowling on the GE Bowling League.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Dayhoff; one son, Laramy Dayhoff and companion (Wendy G. Holcomb) of Linton; grandchildren, Austin, Shaye-lynn and Avery; brothers, John (Connie) Dayhoff of Worthington and Edward (June) Dayhoff of Columbus.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Perry Dale Dayhoff (1969); three brothers and one sister.
Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Minister Pat Kelly officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until time of the service on Friday. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton
