The Linton Police Department's activity log for Friday through Sunday included one follow-up investigation, seven requests for information, one for lifting assistance, one juvenile/delinquent, four assists to the utility department after hours, one protective order violation, one incident of criminal mischief, three brush fires, one transport of documentation, four accidents with property damage, two funeral escorts, one lost and found, three medical/illness, one alarm, one report of a prowler, two suspicious vehicles and/or persons, one assist to another agency, one complaint of harassment, one reckless driver, one traffic control detail, one theft, two disabled or stranded vehicles, one domestic dispute, one domestic with a neighbor, one community relations detail, five ordinance violations and 14 traffic stops.
* Feb. 18 -- George A. Smith, 40, Linton, was arrested at the residence of his mother around 10 a.m. A protective order against Smith taken out by the mother was active at the time when the LPD was made aware that Smith was at his mother's residence. When LPD Officer Nick Yingling arrived at the residence along with LPD Chief Troy Jerrell and Det. Duane Collenbaugh, Smith was at the residence, taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail where he was being held without bond.
* Feb. 19 -- A traffic stop for speeding resulted in the arrest of the driver, Christopher D. Blanton, 31, Linton. LPD Reserve Officer Wayman JR Blazier's report states Blanton's license was suspended and he has a prior conviction for driving while suspended. He was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail. He was released from jail on $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 25. Driving while suspended with a prior conviction is a class A misdemeanor.
