MITCHELL -- Randy Lee Godsey, 49, Mitchell, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at his residence.
Born June 12, 1961 in Bedford, he is the son of Earl Leroy and Mary (Baker) Godsey.
He married Vickie (Blackwell) Workman April 13, 1990.
He was a military policeman in the U.S. Army and was attached to the 572nd Military Police Company based at Fort Ritchie, Md. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 250.
Randy graduated from Bedford-North Lawrence High School in 1979 and was a member of Spice Valley Baptist Church. He had been employed at Regal Beloit and Baxter Pharmaceuticals.

Vickie Godsey, Mitchell; daughters, Jennifer (Jeremy) Neill, Australia, Jill (Justin) Copp, Hattiesburg, Miss.; parents, Earl Leroy and Mary Godsey, Springville; stepchildren, Jacey Workman, Orleans, Jori Workman, Mitchell; grandchildren, Kyran Copp, Karsyn Copp, Skylar Workman, Yasmin Workman, Jayven Workman, Nevaeh Workman, and Ethan Pemberton; brothers, Mark (Janet) Godsey, Centerville, Scott (Cheryl) Godsey, Avon; sister, Kristi (Chad) Rayhill, Mitchell; nieces and nephews, Heidi Staggs, Nicholas Rayhill, Erik Godsey, Morgan Godsey, Garrett Godsey, and Zachary Godsey.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23 in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Pastor Erin Raper and Pastor Phil Thorne officiating.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Kentucky Ridge Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends called from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
