He was on probation for a conviction on a charge of theft. The warrant specified that Barnes be held without bond. He was transported and booked in to the Greene County Jail. LPD Officer Debbie McDonald was the investigating and arresting officer. LPD Cpl. Paul Clark provided assistance.

* March 6 -- Denise M. Duffy, 52, of Edwardsport, was arrested at approximately 7 p.m. Police had received a call reporting that a silver VW traveling on State Road 59 had been crossing the center line.

LPD Officer Debbie McDonald was able to locate the vehicle at the South Side Marathon station, spoke to the driver, Duffy, and determined that she did not have a valid driver's license because it was suspended until Feb. 2012 for being an habitual traffic violator.

According to the police report, Duffy told the officer that her daughter drove her to the station then left with friends. She said her boyfriend was coming up from Vincennes to drive her the rest of the way to her workplace in Linton since she didn't have a license.

The officer said approximately five minutes after she left Duffy at the station, the woman left the station, driving the vehicle on the highway and was then pulled over.

Duffy's vehicle was impounded and she was transported to the Greene County Jail where she was being held on suspicion of driving while being an habitual traffic violator, a class D felony.

Duffy was released from jail later in the evening on $4,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 11.

LPD Officer Debbie McDonald was the arresting officer.
