Loren August Yuodzukinas, 89, of Linton, passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 6, 2011, at his residence in Linton.
He was born August 10, 1921 in Linton, the son of Adam Thomas and Mary Veronica Yuodzukinas.
He was an electronic technician at Crane NWSC for 25 years, retiring August 1971, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was the longest standing member of American Legion Post #22, was an avid fisherman and hunter, was an artist and belonged to several beagle clubs. He and his wife, Donna, along with Russell Arnold, started the first archery club in Linton.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Lee (Miller) Yuodzukinas, to whom he was married Feb. 15, 1943; a son, Michael Alan (Judy) Yuodzukinas, of Dugger; a daughter, Wanda Binnix of Louisville, KY, four grandchildren, Michael Yuodzukinas, Bryan Yuodzukinas, Robert Binnix, Tracie (Binnix) Hylton and nine great-grandchildren, Shandi , Jessica, Alexa, Reese, Cole, Logan, Avery, Bailey and Chelsi.
He was preceded in death by three half-brothers and two half-sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton with Nick Moore officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The Linton American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and at 10 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Bloomfield First Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
