Naomi Herald, of Green County, passed away Monday April 4, 2011 at Garden Villa Nursing Facility in Bloomington.
Born on Nov. 21, 1919 to John R Berry and Stella N (Atchley) Berry in Benton Ill, Naomi was a 49 year member of the Solsberry OES # 547.
Naomi worked at RCA, Sarkes Tarzan, and the owner of Little Injun Drive Inn. Naomi was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship of Bloomington.
Survivors include: a son, Roger Ashcraft of Corpus Christi TX; daughter, Jean (Steve) Hamilton of Bloomington; daughter-in-laws Donna Terry of Robinson TX, Rita Heckard and Chris Ashcraft; two brother-in-laws, James D Ashcraft of Linton and Damon Harden of Kentucky; sister-in-laws, Myrtle Ashcraft of Ohio, Roberta Herald of Owensburg; grandchildren, Laura Lee, Stefani Dawson, Mark Ashcraft, Billy Ashcraft, and Tony Ashcraft, Travis Ashcraft, Denise Hayes and Renee Giesick, Karen Hunt and Pam Breeden; several great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren; niece and special friend Sharon Cummings of Solsberry; and special care giving Friends on station one at Garden Villa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garvice Herald; son, James R Ashcraft; brothers, Jesse Ray Berry, Carl Cummings; sister, Mary Maxwell; grandson, Preston Ward Rush, and brother in law, Dana Ray Ashcraft.
Funeral service will be April 6, at Jenkins Funeral Home Bloomfield with Pastor David Wigington officiating.
