The annual Bloomfield Easter Egg Hunt will be at the Bloomfield Park this Saturday with a rain date of Saturday, April 23. Registration will be at 10 a.m. with the hunt starting at 11 a.m.
There will be 4 age groups again this year -- Walking to 23 months old, 2 -- 4 years old, 5 -- 8 years old and 9 -- 12 years old. All children need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Easter Bunny will arrive on top of the Bloomfield Fire Truck at approximately 10:15 a.m. Also available, free of charge, will be games, Wacky the Clown with his balloon animals and the Greene County Sheriff's Reserves will be fingerprinting the youngsters.
Three Bloomfield churches will host an Easter egg hunt Saturday at the Greene County 4-H Fairgrounds at 11 a.m.
This event began with the Sylvania Wesleyan Church, but has branched out and now also includes efforts by Mount Calvary Wesleyan Church as well as Bloomfield Southside Wesleyan Church.
The hunt is for all ages and will begin at approximately 11 a.m. and will be on rain or shine. A light lunch will also be provided for kids as well as adults which will include coffee and drinks, sloppy Joes, hot dogs and Chili dogs. There will also be chips and miscellaneous finger foods.
Prizes for the kids as well as door prizes from sponsors including Bloomfield Dairy Queen, Subway in Bloomfield, McDonald's in Linton (as well as other miscellaneous prizes) will be given away. There will also be characters at the event who will be telling their story of what they witnessed that Easter morning including Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Jesus.
