Janice was born on May 14, 1923 in Northwest Township, Orange County, Indiana to Wilber and Georgia Gwendoline (Hagemier) Myers. She married Robert Nonte on Nov.25, 1950 and he preceded her in death.
She was a 1942 graduate of West Baden High School and had previously worked at the Crane Navel Depot, Cornwells, Brittany, and the Snack Room at Paoli, Inc. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Paoli and had attended Fawcett Chapel Methodist Church as a young girl. She was an avid bowler and had participated on different leagues during her life time. She was an active member of the Orange County Homemakers most of her life, she volunteered at the Paoli Food Pantry, but enjoyed spending time at their cabin and on the boat at Hidostan Falls.
She is survived by her sister, Maxine Wilson-Meade of French Lick, her beloved caregiver and nephew, James Cassidy of Orleans, her niece that she claimed as a daughter, Mildred "Milly" Kopecky of Greenwood and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters, Mildred Cassidy and Bonnie Ragains.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by T.L. Pinnick Mortuary, 785 South Bears Bend Road, French Lick where the family will receive friends, Friday, April 22, 2011 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, April 23 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 23, at the mortuary with Fr. Joe Moriarity officiating.
Interment will be at Ames Chapel Cemetery, Paoli.
