She was born in Linton on June 3, 1933, to Durward and Viola (Allen) Hurt. Betty married Wilbur Heaton and they had three children, Jean, Patty and Mike. Later she married Paul McDonald and they had two children, Keith and Dolly. Her third husband was Donald Joe Borders who preceded her in death.
Betty worked at General Electric in Linton for 23 years, retiring in 1994. She was a past member of the Moose Lodge. Betty enjoyed reading, crocheting and gardening in her spare time.
Survivors include her two daughters, Dolly (Jeff) Gentry of Linton and Patty Franklin-Heaton of Washington; two sons, Keith McDonald of Linton and Mike Heaton; 11 grandchildren, Tammy (Trevor) Wolfe of Fort Payne, AL, Jeremy Dean of El Dorado, AR, Krystal (Jason) Campbell of Washington, Kanitra and Adrena McDonald, Danielle (Josh) Goodman, Dyan (Rich) Wilkes all of Linton, Adam Baughman of Anchorage, AK, Amie (Jeremy) Solterman of Vincennes, IN, Scott (Tammy) Franklin of Washington, IN and Justin McDonald of Jasonville, IN; 15 great-grandchildren, Britani and Morgan Wolfe, Ellie Mae and Morgan Campbell, Kegan Dean, Cameron Goodman, Dylan Cole Wilkes, Skyler and Liam Franklin, Michael, Kaitlin, Aleighan, Isiah and Crissy Solterman and Gabe McDonald.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Borders, one daughter, Jean Heaton Pope and one granddaughter, Katrina McDonald.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 5.
Funeral service will be on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
