He was born Nov. 2, 1944 in Linton to Richard W. Harrison and Kathleen (Duckworth) Harrison.
Survivors include his spouse, Diane L. (McFarland) Harrison of Coalmont, whom he married on Aug. 21, 1983; son, Harold Eugene Harrison of Jasonville; daughter, Deborah Sue Harrison of Jasonville; brother and sister-in-law, George & Jerrie Harrison of Lewis; sister and brother-in-law, Rita Kay & Charlie Bose of Carlisle; brother-in-law, Harold "Pude" Keller of Jasonville; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marjorie Keller and Dixie Glenn; a brother, Kenny Harrison; and a son, William Henry Harrison.
Harold had worked at the City of Jasonville, Cord Factory, Keller's Service Station and was disabled from The Milwaukee Railroad. He was a member of Lewis Township Fire & Rescue, Greene County Firefighters Association, Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association, the Supporting Hero's St. Jude's Partner, and the IOPO Tissue Donor.
He received the Ollie Sandburg Mental Attitude Award, Midwest Award-Governor's Meritorious Award, and the Lewis Township Firefighter of the Year.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Cox Funeral Home; Jasonville with visitation scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Lewis Township Fire Dept. in Coalmont.
A Volunteer Firefighter Association Memorial Service is scheduled for 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
Funeral Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, at the Lewis Township Fire House with Chaplain Pete Taylor and Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.
Interment will be at Morris Chapel Cemetery in Linton.
