He was a self employed Certified Public Accountant.
He was born July 18, 1920 in Bloomfield to Logan Dugger Richeson and Rosa Sparks Richeson. His wife of 44 years, Betty Pat Richeson preceded him in death in 1991.
Survivors include two daughters, Melinda Wall and her husband Chris of Terre Haute and Marsha Richeson of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a brother, Richard Richeson of Bloomfield; a sister, Margaret Fried of Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Martha Richeson of Indianapolis and Jean Wilfong of Nashville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his loving companion, Virginia "Jinx" Smith; two brothers, Albert and Maynard; and a sister, Mary.
Robert was a member of United Methodist Church of Ft. Myers and the Euclid Lodge #573 F&AM. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre in the field artillery division. Robert was an avid golfer and at the age of 76 was able to shoot his age. He also loved to travel, and whenever possible to incorporate golf into his life. One of his highlights was being able to play the course at St. Andrews in Scotland on more than one occasion. He stayed active his entire life, even helping Marsha rebuild her walkway just 10 days before his death, when this photo was taken.
Masonic funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street by Terre Haute Lodge #19 F&AM. Private burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.
Visitation is scheduled prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m.
The family asks that no flowers be sent, but would ask that memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2001 South Lindbergh Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri 63131.
