He was born on October 16, 1946 in Hazelton to Ross C. and Jaclyn Scott. He was first married to Mary Lou Brown on May 19, 1966, whom preceded him in death on December 31, 2007. He later married Joyce Earle Clayton on February 14, 2011.
He was retired from TRW.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife Joyce Scott of Jasonville,, three Daughters and Son-In-Laws, Nancy (Charlie) Newton of Olney, Pam (Tyrone) Saulsberry of Marshall, and Shelly (Mike) Burton of Mt. Carmel, one Step Daughter Michelle Beck of Crossville, Tenn.; ten grandchildren; and four Great Grandchildren . In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russ Scott and Bill Scott.
He was a member of the Clarksville Baptist Church and after moving to Jasonville he had been attending the Bethel Baptist Church at Vicksburg. He had served as a drill sergeant. in the U.S. Army. He was a collector of knives and loved his Mustang.
Services in honor of his life will be 10 a.m. Thursday CST at the Clarksville Baptist Church, rural Marshall with Brother Jeff Loper officiating. Burial will be in the Clarksville Cemetery with Brother Doug Cassel officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., Marshall, and one-hour prior services at the church on Thursday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksville Cemetery Association.
