Julia M. Bennett, 42, of Linton, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born on March 9, 1969, in Terre Haute, to James J. and Carolyn Sue (Cullison) Bogard. Julia married Tracy Bennett on December 5, 1987 and they were married for 23 years.

Julia was a homemaker and newspaper carrier and inserter for Greene County Daily World; she also served as waitress and bar keeper at the Oodle Inn. She attended the Linton First Christian Church and was a 1987 graduate of Linton High School. Her hobbies included gardening, crafts, collectables and caring for her family.

Survivors include her husband, Tracy Bennett of Linton; two sons, Brandon Bennett and fiancÚ Savanna Henico, Ricky (Chasity) House all of Linton; grandchildren, Katelyn Blackwell, Harley Henico, Dixie House, Chance, Emily and Bristol Sherman; paternal step-grandmother, Marie Bogard of Linton; in-laws include Ralph and Irene Bennett of Linton, Kenny and Jayne Gregory of Paxton, Todd (Brenda) Bennett, Julie (Ron) Weddle both of Linton, JD (Leora) Mason of Bloomington and Billy Gregory of FL. Nieces and nephews include Becky, Halie, Toddy, Audri, Taylor M., Trevor, Dylan, Taylor W., Jackie, Elesabeth, Connor, Kenny, Jayden, Maddie and Dalton. Aunts include Dorothy Jones, Patty Wellington and Peg Burch all of Linton. Also including a host of many special friends.

Julia was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Clarence 'Jim' Bogard, sister, Judy Bogard, maternal grandparents, Tharley and Bessie Cullison and one grandson, Brandon House.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation and/or Riley's Children Hospital with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton on Thursday, June 2 from 4 p.m. -- 9 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday.

The funeral will be Friday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Gary and Elaine West officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
