Born March 20, 1925 in Koleen, he was the son of Ollie and Nellie (Wright) Hill.
Lavon was a farmer and managed Hill's Feed & Grain store in Bloomfield for 30 years.
Surviving relatives include his wife of 64 years Mae (Baker) Hill of Bloomfield, three children; David (Glenda) Hill of Bloomfield, Wayne (Pat) Hill of New Palestine and Beverly (Larry) Burris of Owensburg; he has eight grandchildren: Stacey (Ingrid) Hill, Stephanie Hill, Cory (Kimberly) Hill all of Bloomfield, Lisa (Brian) Caito, Mendy (Brian) Werne all of Indianapolis, Michael (Lacey) Burris of Olney, Ill., Justin (Courtney) Burris of Owensburg and Clint Burris of Olney, Ill.; two step-grandchildren: Kelly (John) Cherry of Rushville and Erin (Frank) McDaniels of Milroy; six great grandchildren: Cade and Conner Hill, Andrew and Alex Caito, Jake Werne and Cylvey Burris; four step great grandchildren: Cydney and Cloey Reed, Kyle and Kate McDaniels; one sister Rowena Roudebush of Bloomfield, one brother-in-law Bill (Loretta) Baker of Pooler, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.
Lavon was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Hill.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011 and 1 p.m. on Sunday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday July 3 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Erin Raper officiating.
Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.
