Mrs. Holt was born Sept. 4, 1909 in Linton, the daughter of Lorenzo and Charlotte (Thompson) Powell.
She worked as a electrician at Stewart Warner Aircraft in Chicago, Ill. During WWII, she was a caregiver for many children. Mrs. Holt was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, and had been attending games since the 1930s. She enjoyed riding horses, playing basketball, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially her two great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Dewey Holt whom she married in 1928, died in 1962.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Michael (Becky) Johnson of Struthers and Melissa Ann Ford of San Diego, Calif., and two great-grandchildren, Cody Lee Johnson and Lola Grace Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Ruth Ann Johnson, and siblings, Dale Powell, Newt Powell, Gary Powell, Merle Powell, Lotus Powell and Pete Powell.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside memorial service will be at Fairview Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16.
