Carl Wesley Whaley, 77, of Bloomfield passed away Tuesday July 12, 2011 at his residence.
Born Sept. 5, 1933 in Monroe County, he was the son of William Arthur and Helen (Adams) Whaley.
Carl was a truck driver, driving last for Griffith Motors in Bloomington, he was retired. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving relatives include six children, Rebecca Moser of Bloomington, Beverly Major (Steve Hendricks) of Spencer, John Whaley and Carl "Jimmy" Whaley both of Bloomfield, Margaret Rose Sciscoe of Bloomington and Peggy (David) Burger of Jasonville; he has 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, six sisters, Lois Pearson of Bloomfield, Thelma Dalton, Roslie Drake, Ruth Arthur all of Bloomington, Linda Pearson of Bloomfield and Betty Whaley of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Melvina (Pearson) Whlaey on March 1, 1990, one grandson Shannon Major, one brother Kenneth Whaley and one sister Mary Ellen Whaley.
Friends may from 10 a.m. on Saturday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Brother Jerry Gholson officiating. Burial will follow at Tulip Cemetery in Bloomfield.
