Howard (Gator) Wayne Wallace, 82, of Dugger, passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor in Sullivan.
He was born in Sullivan County on Oct. 4, 1928, the son of Scott Wallace and Beatrice Carrico Wallace.
Wayne attended Pleasantville High School, was a member of the Cass Twp Volunteer Fire Department, was a 30-year member of the UMWA and Moose Lodge 19 in Linton, and worked as a lineman for IBEW then at Minnehaha.
He enjoyed antique cars and riding his Harley Davidson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jerry Wayne Wallace, and a granddaughter, Kathleen Wallace.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Deloris Blevens Wallace, two sons, David (Johnie) Wallace of Groveland, Fla., and Bill Wallace of Dugger, one daughter, Diana (Gene) Shelton of Paxton, one brother, Jack Wallace of Dugger, six grandchildren, Owen Clifford, Kevin (Shannon) Clifford, Christina (Patrick) Stewart, Bryan (Kryslin) Shelton, Adam Wallace and Amy Wallace, and 11 great-grandchildren, Zach, Michala, Bradley, Katie, Elizabeth, Abigail, Victoria Clifford, Jezsika, Ahztin, Aazrel, Stewart, and Isaiah Shelton.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 16 at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Bro. J.B. Smith officiating. Interment will be at Dugger Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday.
