She was born in Sullivan County on Nov. 22, 1931, the daughter of Harrison and Eva (Alumbaugh) Crooks.
She worked at General Electric and Red & White, both in Linton.
She is survived by three sons, Steve (Beulah) Shonk of Linton, Mike (Debbie) Shonk of Linton and Randy (Donna) Shonk of Ft. Pierce, FL, five grandchildren, Josh, Troy, Greg and Corey (Stacy) Shonk, and Hilary (James) Phillips, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Shonk, on Sept. 21, 1993, and a brother, Lester Crooks.
A funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 with Nyle Riegle officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
